MALSC Celebrates 60 Years

On Tuesday, the Mid-Atlantic Life Safety Conference (MALSC) celebrated 60 years of convening experts in the life safety field for a day of networking and information sharing at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab's Kossiakoff Conference Center. Workshop topics ranged from serial arsonists to improving public outreach, conducted by leaders in the life safety community. The MALSC committee celebrated this diamond anniversary with recognition from Governor Larry Hogan, Col. William Pallozzi (Superintendent, Maryland State Police), and Maryland State Fire Marshal Brian Geraci. Luisa Ferreira of the University of Maryland Office of the Fire Marshal & Emergency Management, won the John C. Spiker Educator of the Year Award for her dedication and excellence in life safety. The conference was sponsored by PEPCO, NFSA, Maryland State Firemen's Association, Alert-All, Maryland Fire & Rescue Institute, and the Fire & Burn Safety Coalition of Maryland.
