Deputy State Fire Marshals Take the Plunge
Anne Arundel County, January 26, 2018, Deputy State Fire Marshals braved the frigid waters of the Chesapeake Bay to help raise funds for the Special Olympics of Maryland. Earlier today, Deputy State Fire Marshals joined several other law enforcement officers at Sandy Point State Park in Annapolis for the "Police Plunge". The Office of the State Fire Marshal's 3 person team raised $450.00 for the Special Olympics of Maryland.
"The MSP Polar Bear Plunge is a fundraising event in which individuals pledge $75 or more for the privilege of plunging into the Chesapeake Bay in support of 7,549 athletes around Maryland."
The Police Plunge was created to provide departments with a great team-building opportunity that provides financial support to Special Olympics Maryland.
All three of the Office of the State Fire Marshal participants are assigned to the Upper Eastern Regional Office located in Easton.
