Firework Safety PSA

The OSFM encourages all to stay safe this summer and to consider viewing public fireworks displays. If you choose to use fireworks, please keep in mind that airborne fireworks are illegal in Maryland. Only Ground Based Sparkling Devices, Gold Labeled Sparklers, and Novelty Items are legal for use by the consumer. It is important to keep your location in mind when using fireworks. Counties and cities such as Prince George's County, Montgomery County, and Baltimore City have banned all forms of fireworks, sparklers, and novelties. Ocean City, Howard County, and Harford County have banned all Ground Based Sparkling Devices.
