OSFM Attends Police Luncheon

On September 14, 2016 the Office of the State Fire Marshal attends a lunch hosted by 8 year old Matten Roy.

"Local law enforcement officers got treated to lunch today by a very special 8-year-old boy. After seeing reports of officers being hurt and killed on television, 8-year-old Matten Roy went to his mother, Melissa, and told her that he wanted to do something to show the police that he appreciated them. Melissa took Matten to area business and told them about the plans.

After receiving some donations, he had his first lunch for police.Matten, who faces multiple medical challenges in his life, was not done with showing his appreciation and wanted to do something even bigger. They enlisted the help of Mission Barbeque and Texas Roadhouse who helped by donating food. The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 4 in Parkville would serve as the event location."
